A MORNING HUNT [REEDTAIL/OPEN]

The sun was just peeking out from the horizon as Leopardheart rose from her bedding. It was unusual for her to wake up so earlier, but the rumbling in her stomach would not let her sleep for another heartbeat. With a long stretch she padded outside to the clearing. Barely anyone was out yet. The only cats she could see was a couple warriors guarding the entrance to their camp. After another rumble from her stomach she didn't hesitate to head for the entrance. A simple nod to the warriors gave the message that she was going out to hunt.

Once outside she let the cool morning air and scent of the river surround her. She swam away from the small island that was her camp and onto the other side. Shaking her fur dry, she started to pad down the edge of the river. A big fat fish sounded wonderful about now. Leopardheart had not gotten the chance to eat since sunhigh yesterday.

Once she found the perfect fishing spot she crouched down, lifting her paw so she was ready to strike when a fish came by. She didn't have to wait to long as a plump silver fish came swimming calmly through the river, unsuspecting of the danger that lurked only a few mouselengths away. With a swift scoop of her paw she sent the fish flying helplessly in the air. It hit the hard stone with a huge thump. Leopard took no time before she bit down, letting the fish lay limp now.

The she-cat hadn't noticed it before, but she heard paw-steps that were slowly getting louder and louder. She couldn't tell if it was a warrior form her clan or from an enemy clan. She didn't take her eyes off her fish as she unsheathed her claw, preparing for a surprise attack if it happened.
