317 words - STONESTRIKE - figured we would get this started~
The molly was happy to be able to sleep outside again. For most of Leabare, her Clan had been cooped up in the old dens of rabbits and foxes that surrounded the camp. It was necessary so they didn't catch a chill, but she knew her Clanmates hated being cooped up as much as she did. Perhaps it was unusual in the other Clans for the leader to sleep among her Clanmates, but in WindClan that was how it was done. Every cat save for the sick, elderly, queens, and kits slept out under the beautiful light of Silverpelt. But Silverpelt was fading now. The queen woke up almost instinctively, The sun was not shining on this morning. Though no rain had fallen, pale gray clouds were making their way across the sky. The sun was trying to shine behind them, turning them shades of orange and pink. Looking at the sight made it easy for the molly to see where her mother had gotten her name from.
She sat up from her nest of grass and moss, and started to drag her tongue over her pelt. Like most members of her Clan, her pelt was short and easy to manage. Key word being most. One of her closest advisers had fur that a ThunderClan cat would be jealous of. His family's lineage was well proven, though. She rose from her nest when she was finished eating and padded over to the freshkill pile. It was getting a bit low, but she still picked a field mouse off the pile and then went back to where the Clan was sleeping. She walked up to one cat in particular, the one she had been thinking of, and dropped the mouse next to his nose.
"Wake up, lazy bones, we have a border patrol to do." She said, purring slightly as she bent down to eat her half of the mouse.
