WORDS: 435 | TAGGED: OPEN | NOTES: lol, what a cutie <3
Camp was awkward. Littlepaw had no idea what to do about the problems going on within his family. Of course he loved his father too much to not take his side, but Lavendertail had betrayed his father. The whole Clan knew it apparently, because he'd heard some of the rumors spreading about his milk-giver. They were saying she'd cheated on Sootbelly with some loner or a cat of another Clan and that she'd only wanted kits out of him. If these things were true, it would break the young cat's heart. He loved Lavendertail as deeply as if she were his true biological mother, although he'd known otherwise his whole life. Littlepaw's father had been adamant about his son knowing of his birth mother from the start.
Padding around aimlessly, the little black and white tom let his mind wander. He'd already finished all his chores and would be meeting his mentor later for some training. That meant he'd have at least an hour and a half to himself. While grateful for such a treat, Littlepaw felt a bit overwhelmed with that much time on his paws. It made time for him to think over the happenings of late, which made him dizzy with confusion.
I just don't know...can life not be simple? Oh what I'd give for someone to help me think this over!
A slight frown had tainted the apprentice's features as he continued to plod along. He hadn't paid much attention to his surroundings and had somehow ended up at Sunningrocks. The sight of the basking spot turned Littlepaw's frown into a bright beam. Launching himself forward, the tom sprinted toward the peaceful place. A squeal of utter excitement left his maw and he bounced onto one rock sunnily before sprawling out on it.
The warmth quickly soaked into the young feline's limbs, making him purr deeply. He rolled around, trying to find the best, most comfortable position and finally settled on stretching onto his back with his paws atop his narrow chest. Closing his wide, sparkling green eyes, Littlepaw sighed contentedly. Sunningrocks would be the perfect distraction for the juvenile cat. He let his plume of a tail swing over the edge of the rock and slowly began to sink into a wonderful slumber. As he fell deeper and deeper, his jaw went slack and his tongue hung outside of it a tad. He dreamed of chasing rabbits and hooking fish from the river, making his limbs twitch as if he were really doing as he dreamed.
"C'mere, fishy....", he mumbled sleepily, rolling onto his side and smiling a bit.
LITTLEPAW Is there a right way for how this goes?

NEWTPAW
the camp life, was boring. they always had some tasteless rumor or another to dapple on about, and yet that never quite peeked her interest. no, the young she-cat of only seven moons had found it far more fetching to do other things, like sneak into the warriors den at night to put little pebbles in the night patrol's nests. or even go as far as to toss a pebble in on the elder's just to see what would come of it. but for the small tabby brown she-cat, with vibrant blue eyes, she knew nothing else but adventure and mischief. she had been an only kit growing up; having never known who her stillborn siblings were. she was even the offspring of a single parent, one who kept her father's identity hidden.
not like she didn't know who he was.
she had wanted to join thunderclan and be with her father more then anything in the world - but she had nearly drowned in the cool new-leaf rush of water, had it not been for her mother who had risked tooth and claw to save her. while the young feline did still wish to be apart of her father's clan, it didn't hurt any less that she was here, in the clan she had known since the moment air entered her lungs. but with each step she produced a step away from her clan's camp and into the territory that she loved and held dear. now she wasn't supposed to be out and about by herself; seeing as she had only been recently apprenticed and her mentor had been absent in his/her training of her. in fact, newtpaw rarely saw the light outside camp, unless she was tossed into a patrol or taken out with a warrior who was kind enough to help her escape.
from where she was, she could hear the hum of the river - and her choice of direction lead her that way. i'll catch the biggest fish! that way my mentor will let me train again! she thought with a silly grin, her eyes wide as she began her half gallop pace towards what would be her renounce first visit since that faithful day. she had rarely, if any, been near the river since her mother had fallen in - but the young she-cat was determined to not look like a fool as she neared the bubbling water of what was the river. our name sake, we must pray to starclan it stays. her mother's voice was clear in her ears, as clear as the sun was in the sky. that was when she spotted movement from the corner of her eye and she froze in the patch of reeds that she had found herself in.
"c'mere, fishy...." the voice was soft, barely above the gentle current the river made, but the young she-cat had forced on the cat upon the rocks, eyes peeled and ready to launch away if the cat so much as attacked her. it took her only a moment to realize that this feline, the black and white ball of fur resting on the rocks - was non other then her den mate, littlepaw. a cheeky grin grew across her face then, mischievous and devilish all rolled into one, and with each careful pawstep, as silent as she could be, she moved closer - paws taunting her until finally she could see his tail hanging from the boulder. her grin spread wider, into a smirk as she parted her jaws, preparing to clamp down onto his tail - to awaken the sleeping apprentice.
